Circle Ends Noble USDC: What to Do Before January 12

Short answer: Circle is shutting down USDC on the Noble chain. New minting through Circle Mint stopped on October 13, 2026. Redemptions through Circle Mint run until January 12, 2027. After that, Noble USDC can only be recovered by a manual process.

If your USDC sits on Noble, move it. Do it before the January 12 pause, not after.

Anyone holding Noble USDC has already passed the first deadline without noticing. The next one lands in eleven days.

Here is the full schedule from Circle’s own notice, the three ways out, and the one thing that decides whether a late holder gets paid back.

What is Circle ending on Noble, and when?

Circle announced on September 10, 2026 that it is discontinuing support for USDC and CCTP V1 on the Noble blockchain, with the Noble USDC contract and all CCTP routes fully paused on January 12, 2027.

The announcement is part of Circle’s broader retirement of CCTP V1, its older cross-chain transfer protocol. According to Circle’s notice, Noble will not receive CCTP V2, and Circle did not give a technical or commercial reason for that.

The exit happens in three phases. Phase one was normal operation through October 12. Phase two began October 13 and runs through January 12, 2027. Phase three starts January 13, when Noble is closed to Circle Mint and CCTP.

That first phase ended a week ago.

Which dates matter for Noble USDC holders?

Five dates matter for Noble USDC holders, according to Circle’s September 10, 2026 notice: October 13, October 31, December 1, January 12 and January 13.

Date What Circle says happens What it means for you
Oct 13, 2026 New USDC minting on Noble via Circle Mint disabled Already in effect. You cannot add new Noble USDC through Circle.
Oct 31, 2026 CCTP V1 burn limits start falling toward zero Large transfers off Noble get harder over time.
Dec 1, 2026 CCTP exits may be limited to chains that still accept V1 burns Your destination chain may no longer be an option.
Jan 12, 2027 Noble USDC contract and CCTP routes paused; balance snapshot taken Last day for the normal redemption path.
Jan 13, 2027 Manual redemption begins via Circle’s Help Center Slower, with eligibility checks.

When I compared Circle’s notice with the crypto.news write-up, I found that the two agree on every date. One outlet I checked listed the contract pause as December 1, which does not match Circle’s own post. December 1 is the date CCTP exits may become limited, not the full pause.

Desk calendar and planner used to track a deadline
Circle’s September 10, 2026 notice sets January 12, 2027 as the date the Noble USDC contract and CCTP routes are paused.

How do you move USDC off Noble?

Holders with USDC on Noble can leave through three routes named in Circle’s notice: a centralized exchange that supports Noble USDC deposits, a decentralized exchange swap on Noble, or a CCTP V1 burn to another supported chain.

  • Exchange deposit. Simple, if your exchange still lists Noble as a deposit network. Check this first. Do not assume it.
  • DEX swap on Noble. You swap USDC for another asset, then bridge that asset out. Expect slippage and a second fee.
  • CCTP V1 burn. Burns USDC on Noble and mints native USDC on the destination. According to crypto.news, V1 currently supports Aptos, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, OP Mainnet, Polygon PoS, Solana, Sui and Unichain alongside Noble.

Circle says it will publish a shortlist of known exit venues, and that it is not running its own exit interface. I could not find that list in the notice yet.

Here’s where people get tripped up. The CCTP burn limits shrink from October 31, so a big balance moved in January may need to be split into pieces, or may not fit at all. Moving early avoids that.

What happens if you miss January 12, 2027?

A holder who misses the January 12, 2027 pause cannot redeem through Circle Mint or CCTP, and instead must qualify for Circle’s manual redemption, which opens January 13, 2027 through Circle’s Help Center.

Circle’s notice lists three conditions for manual redemption. You must meet Circle’s compliance and security requirements. You must hold the USDC in a wallet you control. And your wallet address must appear in the balance snapshot taken on the pause date.

Circle has not yet published the procedure or processing times. Tokens left on Noble are not converted automatically.

That last point is the one to remember. Nothing happens for you if you do nothing.

Why is Initia moving its USDC now?

Initia is migrating its USDC from Noble to Injective, because Circle plans to discontinue USDC on Noble, according to a TechFlow morning brief dated October 20, 2026.

The same brief says a redemption vault handles the move and that users can swap 1:1 inside the Initia wallet. It also repeats the January 12, 2027 date for redeeming Noble USDC held in wallets through Circle.

I noticed that this is the only wallet-level migration I found reported so far. If you use another app built on Noble, check its announcements for a similar vault rather than assuming one exists.

Where Exit Scams Will Show Up

Deadlines make good bait. Circle’s notice warns holders to use only Circle’s blog and Help Center for redemption guidance.

Expect fake “redemption portal” links in replies and direct messages. A real manual redemption will not ask for your seed phrase. Ever.

Tips

  • Check your wallet’s network list today. If USDC shows up under Noble, it is affected.
  • Test with a small transfer before moving the full balance.
  • Screenshot the transaction and keep the hash until the funds arrive.
  • Move before October 31 if the balance is large, because burn limits start shrinking.

Warnings

  • Never enter a seed phrase on a redemption page.
  • Do not wait for January 13 hoping the manual portal is easy. Circle has not published its terms.
  • A DEX swap on a thin pool can cost more than the deadline saves you.
  • This is not financial advice.

FAQ

When does Circle stop supporting USDC on Noble?

Circle’s notice of September 10, 2026 says the Noble USDC contract and all CCTP routes are fully paused on January 12, 2027. New minting through Circle Mint was disabled on October 13, 2026.

Can I still redeem Noble USDC through Circle Mint?

Yes, until January 12, 2027, according to Circle. After that date Circle Mint no longer supports Noble, and holders must use a manual redemption process that opens January 13, 2027.

What if my USDC is in a wallet that was not in the snapshot?

Circle says manual redemption requires a holder-controlled wallet whose address is in the balance snapshot taken on the pause date. A wallet that is missing from the snapshot may not qualify, so confirm details in Circle’s Help Center.
