Monad Token Unlock November 24: What Holders Should Know

Short answer: Monad’s one-year lock-up ends on November 24, 2026. Team tokens worth about 10.7% of the initial supply start to release. That is close to the 11.83 billion MON already circulating. Investor tokens then unlock in 1/48 monthly slices. Aggregators disagree on the exact cliff-day total, from about 16.6 to 17.1 billion MON. None of this tells you where the price goes.

Five weeks out, the number people keep repeating is that the Monad unlock will add ‘a third’ to supply. That is roughly right, and also easy to misread.

The size of an unlock is not the same as the size of the selling. This guide separates the two, using the dates and splits that Monad’s published token schedule gives, as reported on September 26-28, 2026.

What exactly unlocks on November 24, 2026?

On November 24, 2026, the first anniversary of Monad’s public mainnet launch (November 24, 2025), the one-year cliff on team and investor allocations ends and those MON tokens begin to vest, according to Monad’s published tokenomics as summarized by CryptoTicker on September 26, 2026.

Group Share of initial supply What happens at the cliff
Team About 27% total About 10.7% of initial supply (roughly 10.7 billion MON) is released on the anniversary, per Monad’s schedule
Investors About 19.7% total Unlock in equal 1/48 monthly instalments after the one-year cliff
Category Labs treasury About 3.95% Earmarked for future employee compensation

When I checked the aggregators, I found that the headline totals for November 24 do not match. Tokenomics.com lists 16.61 billion MON (16.6% of total supply). Another outlet puts it at about 16.8 billion, and a third at roughly 17.1 billion. The gap comes from how each site treats the first investor slice.

Use the team figure for the cliff day itself. Treat the total as a range.

Monad’s November 24, 2026 cliff releases about 10.7 billion team MON against 11.83 billion circulating (late September 2026 data).

How big is the unlock compared with circulating supply?

Monad’s roughly 10.7 billion team tokens equal about 90% of the 11.83 billion MON that was circulating in late September 2026, and the larger aggregator totals of 16.6 to 17.1 billion are 140% to 145% of that figure.

Measure MON Against 11.83B circulating
Circulating supply (late Sep 2026) 11.83 billion 100%
Team tranche on Nov 24 about 10.7 billion about 90%
Low aggregator total 16.61 billion about 140%
High aggregator total about 17.1 billion about 145%

That ratio is our own arithmetic from the numbers above. The ‘about a third’ figure that circulates online compares the unlock with a different base. I could not reproduce it from the sources I could read, so I would not repeat it.

At the reported September 26 price of about $0.0263 and a market cap near $311 million, the team tranche was worth roughly $280 million on paper. The price has surely changed since then.

What happens after the cliff?

After November 24, 2026, Monad’s team tokens release over the following three years and investor tokens unlock in 1/48 monthly instalments, and the foundation expects all initially locked tokens to be free by the fourth anniversary, in Q4 2029.

So the cliff is a big first step, not the whole staircase. Supply keeps growing every month for years. A holder who only watches November 24 misses that.

Does an unlock mean selling?

A token unlock makes tokens transferable but does not force anyone to sell them, and analysts quoted in late-September coverage disagree on whether Monad’s unlock will push the price down.

Some recipients hold, some move tokens to exchanges, some stake. You cannot tell which from the calendar. Honestly, the useful signal shows up later: large transfers from known team or investor wallets to exchange deposit addresses.

What should you watch before November 24?

Before Monad’s November 24, 2026 cliff, the most useful checks are the live circulating supply, the official vesting page, and on-chain transfers from locked-allocation wallets.

  • Circulating supply on a tracker, compared with the 11.83 billion late-September figure.
  • Monad’s own tokenomics page, since aggregators disagree on the total.
  • Exchange funding rates and open interest on MON perpetuals, if you trade derivatives.
  • Any change to the cliff date. Several 2026 unlocks (UNITE, SAHARA, HUMA) were postponed earlier, so older calendars can be wrong.

Reading Errors That Cost Holders

Here’s where people get tripped up. They add the whole 19.7% investor allocation to the cliff, when Monad’s schedule releases it monthly after the cliff.

The second error is comparing the unlock with total supply instead of circulating supply. Against the 100 billion total, 10.7 billion looks small. Against what can actually trade today, it is huge.

Tips

  • Write down the date, the team figure and the circulating supply today, so you can compare later.
  • Use two sources for the total and expect them to differ.
  • Decide your position size before the date, not on the day.

Warnings

  • Fake ‘claim your unlock’ links and airdrops cluster around well-known unlock dates. Do not connect your wallet to anything you reached through a message.
  • Prices cited here are from September 2026. Do not use them for a trade.

FAQ

When is the Monad token unlock?

The one-year cliff ends on November 24, 2026, the first anniversary of Monad’s public mainnet launch. Team tokens begin releasing that day.

How many MON tokens unlock on November 24?

Monad’s schedule puts the team release at about 10.7% of the initial supply, roughly 10.7 billion MON. Aggregators list a total between about 16.6 and 17.1 billion depending on how they count the first investor instalment.

Nobody can say. An unlock makes tokens transferable but does not force sales, and analysts in late-September 2026 coverage disagree on the effect. Watch exchange inflows from team and investor wallets rather than the calendar alone.
