Kraken Delists 13 Tokens October 23: Sell or Withdraw?
Short answer: Kraken stops deposits and trading for 13 assets on October 23, 2026 at 14:00 UTC. Withdrawals stay open until January 29, 2027 at 15:00 UTC. Anything left is sold automatically between February 1 and 12, 2027, at whatever the thin market pays. So you get one last window to sell on Kraken and a longer window to move coins out. After October 23, selling on Kraken is no longer an option.
Five days. That is what is left before Kraken switches off trading for BMB, ELX, APU, BDXN, DUCK, BOS, U, OBOL, IDEX, FIS, UXLINK, ALTHEA and NOBODY.
The notice is short, and it hides the part that matters. The deadline you should care about is not the January one. It is the first one, because that is the last day you can sell these coins on Kraken at all.
Not investment or tax advice. Dates and asset names come from Kraken’s Notice of Scheduled Asset Delistings, last updated October 8, 2026, which I read on October 18, 2026. Kraken can change the notice, so recheck it before you act.

Which dates does Kraken give?
Kraken’s October 2026 delisting notice sets three dates: trading and deposits end on October 23, 2026 at 14:00 UTC, withdrawals end on January 29, 2027 at 15:00 UTC, and leftover balances are sold between February 1 and 12, 2027.
In US Eastern time, the first cutoff lands at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 23. In Korea it is 11:00 p.m. the same day. The January cutoff is 10:00 a.m. Eastern on January 29, 2027.
| Step | Date and time (UTC) | What stops | Days from Oct 18 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Trading and deposits end | Oct 23, 2026, 14:00 | You cannot buy, sell or deposit the 13 assets on Kraken | 5 |
| 2. Withdrawals end | Jan 29, 2027, 15:00 | You cannot move the coins off Kraken any more | 103 |
| 3. Forced liquidation | Feb 1 to Feb 12, 2027 | Kraken sells any balance still on the platform | 106 to 117 |
Between steps 1 and 2 there are 98 days where you can only do one thing with these assets on Kraken: withdraw them. That is a long time, which is exactly why people put it off.

Which 13 assets are affected?
Kraken’s notice lists 13 assets: BMB, ELX, APU, BDXN, DUCK, BOS, U, OBOL, IDEX, FIS, UXLINK, ALTHEA and NOBODY, with the notice itself stating that several of them have limited or inactive markets.
When I checked the live notice, I noticed that some search snippets and summaries still show a 14-ticker list that includes COPM. The page as updated on October 8 does not list COPM. If you rely on a copied list from a news site, you may be looking at an older version of the notice. Open the support page itself.
Kraken does not publish a reason for any single removal in this notice. Do not assume the reason from the ticker.
Sell on Kraken or withdraw: how do you choose?
If you hold one of the 13 assets, the choice before October 23, 2026, 14:00 UTC is between selling on Kraken now and withdrawing to a wallet or another exchange that still supports the coin, and the right one depends on whether that other place exists.
Here is the logic I would use.
| Your situation | Better move | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Another exchange you use lists the coin | Withdraw, then decide | You keep the option to sell later at a market with real depth |
| No exchange you can use lists it | Sell on Kraken before Oct 23 | After that you hold a coin you may not be able to sell anywhere |
| Tiny balance, withdrawal costs more than it is worth | Sell before Oct 23 if there is a bid | A forced sale in February may get close to nothing |
| You believe in the project and run your own wallet | Withdraw to self-custody | You control timing; check the wallet supports the token’s network |
| You cannot tell if there is a buyer | Look at the order book first | A thin book means a market sell can fill at a poor price |
Honestly, the order book check is the step most people skip. A coin with a quoted price and no real bids is a coin you can look at, not sell.
What happens in the February 1-12 liquidation?
Under Kraken’s notice, any balance of the 13 assets still on the platform after the January 29, 2027 withdrawal cutoff is sold automatically between February 1 and 12, 2027, and Kraken warns proceeds may be significantly below recent reference prices and in some cases minimal or nil.
That is the company’s own wording, not a guess. It says several of these assets have limited or inactive markets, so the sale price depends on whatever liquidity exists on the day.
You do not choose the time or the price. Kraken does not say, in this notice, how it will split the sale across the 12 days. Treat the forced sale as the worst case, not as a fallback.
What should you do in the next five days?
A Kraken account holder with any of the 13 delisted assets should check the balance, check for buyers, then choose sell or withdraw before 14:00 UTC on October 23, 2026.
- Open your Kraken balances and filter for the 13 tickers. Note each amount and the dollar value shown.
- Open the order book for any pair you can still trade. Look at the bids, not the last price.
- Check the withdrawal screen for the fee and the network. Compare the fee to the balance value.
- Confirm the destination supports the exact token and network. A wrong network can lose the coins.
- Send a small test withdrawal first if the balance is large.
- Write down any sale for tax records. A sale is a taxable event in many countries.
Do not leave this until Friday morning. Withdrawals can queue, and a test transfer only helps if you have time to wait for it.

Where Holders Slip Up
The common mistake is reading January 29, 2027 as the deadline for everything. It is the deadline for withdrawals only.
- Waiting for a price bounce. After October 23 you cannot sell on Kraken, so a rally in November does nothing for your Kraken balance.
- Trusting a copied ticker list. A list that still shows COPM is out of date against the October 8 notice.
- Sending to the wrong network. Many tokens exist on several chains. The deposit address must match the one you pick.
- Forgetting a small balance. Dust is exactly what gets caught in the February sale.
If you have ever left a few dollars on an exchange and forgotten it, you know how this goes.
Tips
- ✅ Screenshot the notice and your balances today. It helps if a number is disputed later.
- ✅ Start with the largest balance, then work down.
- ✅ Check Kraken’s withdrawal fee per asset before choosing, because it varies by token.
- ✅ If you want to sell, check the bid depth first and consider a limit order.
- ✅ Set a calendar reminder for October 22 in case something is left.
Warnings
- A coin leaving Kraken may be delisted elsewhere too. I did not find a verified list of other exchanges for these 13 assets, so check each one yourself.
- Never click a link in an email or direct message claiming to help you withdraw. Use the Kraken app or the support page you typed in.
- This article is not investment or tax advice, and the dates can change if Kraken updates the notice.
FAQ
Can I still sell delisted tokens on Kraken after October 23, 2026?
No. Kraken’s notice says deposits and trading are disabled for the affected assets from October 23, 2026 at 14:00 UTC. After that you can only withdraw them until January 29, 2027 at 15:00 UTC.
What if I do nothing and my balance is still there in February 2027?
Kraken says remaining balances are liquidated automatically between February 1 and 12, 2027. The notice warns that proceeds may be significantly below recent reference prices and in some cases minimal or nil because markets for these assets are thin.
Does a Kraken delisting mean the token is worthless or a scam?
Not necessarily. Kraken’s notice gives no reason for individual assets. A delisting only tells you that Kraken will stop supporting the asset, so judge the token on its own facts and check whether other exchanges still list it.
